The goal of the Economic Development Department is to help strengthen and diversify the County's economy and to encourage job growth. Currituck boasts the region's lowest business tax rate for personal, business and real property.  At 32 cents per $100 of valuation this is by far the lowest tax burden imposed in the region.
 Currituck County kicked off a "Buy Local" initiative last fall to encourage shoppers to patronize local businesses.  Up to 68 cents of every dollar spent locally is reinvested in the county.
 Biz Expo & Job Fair - Hosted by the Currituck County Chamber of Commerce, the annual event showcases the region's finest businesses and products in a "Keep it Local" networking weekend.
