INFOGRAPHIC: What You Need to Know About the Mid-Currituck Bridge

shutterstock_249672322Currituck County is another step closer towards shaping its future.

On March 8, 2019, the Record of Decision (ROD) was received from the Federal Highway Administration for the Mid-Currituck Bridge (MCB).

It's hard to overstate how much of a game-changer the bridge will be for the county.

The connection will kick off a new era of improved quality of life, business development and simple convenience for residents and visitors.

Some citizens have concerns and questions about the impact that this bridge will have on the county. If you'd like to learn more about how officials reached their decision on the bridge, I encourage you to check out the extensive documents available on the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) project page.

You can also find links on our own Mid-Currituck Bridge page.

Full disclosure: there are a LOT of pages. Keep in mind that since they are official government documents, browsing through them is not exactly what I would call a "light, fun beach read." But the reports are a great way to take a deep dive into some of the important issues including environmental impact, traffic benefit and overall costs.

I'm a big fan of facts. And I believe that once the truth is out there, free for all to see, it doesn't make sense to have any more discussions based on uninformed assumptions, irrational fears and personal opinion.
