The Pedestrian Master Plan is now available online and is definitely worth reviewing for anyone interested in a comprehensive explanation of the benefits, goals and recommendations of improving county-wide walkability.

According to the report: "The Connect Currituck Pedestrian Master Plan aims to identify new opportunities and ongoing initiatives that will create a pedestrian environment that connects people of all ages and abilities to where they live, work, play and learn."

The planning process kicked off in April 2017 and data was collected by studying pedestrian and vehicle traffic patterns and soliciting input from Currituck County residents. The cost of the plan was supported by joint funding from Currituck County and a grant from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT)

Two public presentations and discussions of the plan were held on August 31, 3017. (that presentation is available here).
