Where do you walk? Where would you like to walk? What would make the experience of walking in Currituck County better?

Currituck County and North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) are working together to develop a Pedestrian Master Plan to improve walking conditions throughout Currituck. The plan aims to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility in Currituck for people of all ages and abilities.

The end result of this planning process will be a report with maps and recommendations for sidewalks, crosswalks, greenway trails, and related policies, programs, and infrastructure.

The development of this plan includes a public process, featuring input from:

  • a steering committee
  • the public
  • a public survey form
  • public open house events
  • outreach booths
  • presentations

The first step involves completing a short (and anonymous) survey:
