NC Moves 2050 Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan
The N.C. Department of Transportation is asking the public to help shape the future of transportation in North Carolina. That's a pretty big deal.

According to their press release, right now, "the department is in the process of conducting a two-year study to develop its new 30-year strategic transportation plan, called the NC Moves 2050 Plan. "

In 30 years, studies predict that North Carolina will grow by another 4 million or so residents.

That's a lot of people.

And when all those people need to go from one place to the next, we're going to want to make that process as painless and efficient as possible.

Right now, that means taking a hard look at things like roads, railways, bike trails and airports. But in thirty years... who knows?

Maybe we'll need to consider drones, self-driving cars and (fingers crossed) personal jetpacks and hovercraft.

But over the coming months, NCDOT needs your feedback.

As part of the final phase of the study, the NC Moves 2050 team has created a survey. They're asking the public to weigh in on matters that will impact the future of transportation in the state for decades to come.

NC Moves Survey

The survey will be available through February 14, 2020.

The state’s long-range transportation plan is updated every five to 10 years.
